Grandpa printed Permit will bring 2 copies (1 for car and 1 to carry). Mike will do same.

Hey guys. Would everyone (or most everyone) be available for a zoom call this week? Maybe Thursday evening? That way we can finalize details and shared gear, vehicles, and food? So far it looks like Travis will be coming down to my place Thursday. Me, Travis and Sharon will be carpooling together.

-Each Individual will pack their own: Friday trail Lunch; 2 dehydrated dinner meals; Sunday     Breakfast meal, Drinks & Snacks.

-Mike brings Saturday's Breakfast for all.

-Chad brings Saturday's Lunch for all.

-Mike brings Coffee in tied up filters. (plus some instant).

Backpacking Menu

• Friday lunch:
  - sandwiches.
• Friday dinner:
  - dehydrated meal.
• Saturday breakfast:
  - scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes.
• Saturday lunch:
  - Tuna with Peta bread.
  - summer sausage, cheese, crackers.
• Saturday dinner:
  - dehydrated meal or fish.
• Sunday breakfast:
  - Oatmeal.
• Bring your own snacks and drinks.

 Comment on this post with Ideas about Menus. Probably 2 or 3 lunch/trail meals and 2 dinner camp meals and 2 breakfast meals. For 7 people - no campfires and must haul out any waste (Leave No Trace....). 

8/12/2021 <grandpa> equipment notes from Zoom meeting

Mike will bring 4 place tent - share carry with Nate & Grandpa.

Grandpa will bring Fry-pan, 1.1 L pot.  Chad, Grandpa & Sharon will bring stoves/fuel.

Chad, Sharon & Travis bring Camp water bags.  Chad & Sharon bring camp water filters.

Grandpa will bring tarp for kitchen in case of rain.

Chad and I talked. We each plan to bring a stove and fuel. Chad has following: Gravity Water Filter, 2 liter Bladder, looking for Spice bag, maybe teapot.  He is planning to sleep in his hammock.

 How many Tents do we need and who's will we use.
I have my old 2 man pup tent that is pretty light and a 3 man Eureka that is a little heavier.
I know Travis usually likes to put up his hammock - weather and trees permitting

North Vehicle for Mike, Sharon & Travis.

South Vehicle for Nate, Grandpa & Chad. (Nates Trailblazer)

Meet at Nederland Park and Ride at 6:00 am and transfer North Vehicle to Nates Trailblazer and take one vehicle to Trailhead.

Cory is not going so it is now 3 from the south and 3 from the north.  Also, it might be possible to have 1 car at the Trailhead (If Nate could drive the Trailblazer; or squeeze 6 in my 5 passenger Jeep.

Travis plans to go to Mikes place and ride with Mike and Sharon. So 3 from the North and 4 from the South.

 Looks like about a 2 hr drive from Castle Rock to the Trailhead. So, should plan to leave here between 4 and 4:30 am on the 20th. I can drive the Jeep and would have room for Me, Chad, Cory, Travis and Nate.

Comment on this Post about Plans for getting to/from the Trail Head.

Several reviews I have read recommend arrival at trail head by 6 am, some say 7 am.

We have talked of just 2 vehicles to trail head (1 for northern participants and 1 for southern).

If need be we can meet and leave extra vehicles at Park and Ride in Nederland.
